HENDO is a Hudson Valley based furniture design and fabrication studio founded by Jason Hernandez in 2015. Jason’s interest in art and design began at a young age, his father is a ceramicist and his grandfather was a woodworker. Jason followed in the path of his family’s artistic lineage by attending Mass College of Art and Design, where he received a degree in painting. After embarking on a career in mural and sign painting that lasted nearly a decade, Jason decided to follow his interest in 3-D design and building full time. This new world of furniture design meant fine-tuning natural abilities and mastering new skills. In the course of few years Jason learned metal working at the School of Visual Arts, in New York City, and completed an intensive fine woodworking studio program at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship, in Rockport, Maine. Form and function proved to be Jason was really interested in and the furniture and design studio, HENDO, was born.
HENDO is an exploration of line, form, function, and material. Using fine woodworking techniques we create high-quality, hand-crafted contemporary furniture. Each piece is designed and hand-crafted in New York by Jason Hernandez. Each piece is made to order and is one of a kind.
